Alan Hutton Bio
Send To Friend
Hutton joined Tottenham Hotspur from Glasgow Rangers in January 2008 for a fee a believed to around £9m.
He began his career with Rangers in 2002, making his debut for the club as an 18-year-old in December 2002 and went on to make over 120 appearances for the club - winning the SPL in 2004-05 - before he attracted the attention of Spurs.
The right-sided Scottish full-back, who likes attacking down the flanks, was initially reluctant to head south and a protracted move ensued before terms were finally agreed.
Hutton settled well and was celebrating his first trophy win with the club after just three appearances as Spurs lifted the League Cup at Wembley.
He went on to impress before injury hindered his ability to fight for a first team place but, having made his international debut against Austria in May 2007, he is viewed as a first-choice defender for his country when fit.
