Tom Huddlestone joined Tottenham Hotspur from Derby County in January 2005 in a deal reported to be worth £2.5million, but remained at his old club on loan until the end of the season.
He began the first part of the 2005/06 season on loan at Wolves before making his Spurs debut in January 2006 and by the end of the 2006/07 season has established himself as one of the most promising young English midfielders in the game.
The versatile play-making midfielder started 23 games in the 2007/08 season and game on from the bench in a further 10 games. Impressed with the 21-year-old Juande Ramos rewarded Huddlestone with a new and improved five-year contract in June 2008, tying him to White Hart Lane until 2013.
Ramos was not the only manager to have noted the player's performances as Huddlestone earned a call-up to Fabio Capello's full England squad.
A product of Derby County's Academy, Huddlestone made his debut aged just 16 in August, 2003 and went on to make 95 appearances for the Rams in his two seasons in the first team squad.
He made his debut for the club at the start of the 2003/04 season as George Burley looked to blood some of the club's fine collection of young talent.
A commanding figure who is useful with the ball at his feet, boasts power, pace, a ferocious shot and an impressive range of passing.
