Boruc signed for Celtic from Legia Warsaw in 2005 and has played in a substantial part in three Scottish League titles and two qualifications for the knock-out phase of the Champions League.

He began his career with PogoD Siedlce before moving to Warsaw.

The goalkeeper made his debut for Poland in 2004 and played at the World Cup in 2006 and also at Euro 2008.

His time with Celtic has been dogged by controversy, with several high profile clashes with Rangers fans and off-field personal problems.

Boruc, who has also won the Scottish Cup and two Scottish League Cups with Celtic, had played 172 games for the club prior to the start of the 2009-10 sesson.
