Kirk Broadfoot Bio
Send To Friend
A solid defender, the Scot initially signed for SPL side Hibernian as an apprentice, but was released and signed for St Mirren in July 2002.
He won the 2005 Scottish Challenge Cup with the club and also gained promotion to the Scottish Premier League for the 2006-07 season, where he was named team captain.
At the end of that season he signed a pre-contract agreement to sign for Rangers in the summer and made his debut against FK Zeta in a UEFA Champions League qualifier.
He established himself in the first-team and won the 2008 Scottish League Cup Final, while he was also a key part in Rangers' run to the 2008 UEFA Cup Final. He played another important role in the Gers' title win of 2008-09 and is viewed as a first-team regular at Ibrox.
Broadfoot achieved some unwanted fame when he allowed a microwaved egg to explode in his face, ruling him out of action for some weeks and causing him some serious facial burns.
