Young striker Hemmings made his Football League debut in February 2009 during a brief loan spell with Cheltenham Town, playing just once as a substitute in a 3-1 home defeat to Millwall.

The England youth international was handed his Wolves debut at the end of the 2008-09 season, making his debut as a replacement for Andy Keogh in a 1-1 draw at Barnsley.
