Seol Ki-Hyeon Bio Send To Friend

An intelligent, mobile attacker who can operate as a central striker or on the right-side, Seol has a lot more skill than he is usually given credit for and his whipped in crosses are particularly dangerous.

In January 2009 the striker joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal on loan until the end of the 2008-09 season after not featuring for the Cottagers since October.

Signing for Fulham on the last day of the August 2007 transfer window, Seol was swapped by Reading for Liam Rosenior and signed a three year deal at Craven Cottage.

However, after seldom featuring in Fulham's brush with relegation in the 2007/08 season the Korean international was tipped with a move after growing disheartened at his lack of his first team opportunities; he made just 15 appearances in all competitions.

He barely figured in 2008/09, despite scoring in the opening day defeat at Hull City, and was loaned to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal Al-Saudi Club in January 2009 for the second half of that campaign.

Seol made the unusual decision of joining Royal Antwerp in Belgium directly from university and after just one impressive season there, he was snapped up by Anderlecht, where he became the first Korean to play in the Champions League.

He joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2004 in a £1.2 million deal, but did not always convince in the hurly-burly of English second tier.

Disappointed with the failure of Wolves to win promotion from the Championship, Seol sought a move to the Premier League following the 2006 FIFA World Cup, despite having two years of his contract left.

Seol eventually joined newly promoted Premiership club Reading on 12 July 2006 for a fee of £1.5 million and scored his first Premiership goal as Reading won 2-1 at Sheffield United.

He wasted little time in showing his skills in the top flight as Reading impressed in 2006/07. Seol's runs down the flanks were key to the Royals' attacking play and he received plaudits for his creativity.

Scoring four times in the season, Seol's excellent start did not continue in the way he would have hoped, but the Korean remained an important squad player.

However, Reading boss Steve Coppell saw him as dispensable after some poor performances for the club at the start of 2007/08 and made the swap at the 11th hour with Fulham for young England star Liam Rosenior.
