The Turkish-based goalie overhauled Philemon McCarthy in the final furlongs of the race for the third goalkeeping spot on the squad and his selection was well-deserved too. Without his heroics in goal, Ankaraspor would never have kept their head above the relegation waters of the Turkish top flight, so he heads to Germany in fine form.

Kingston is very quick of his line to smother danger, courageous, ever-alert and always gets good distance with his punches, yet he does have some flaws. On the other hand, he can seem less than comfortable dealing with back-passes.

He only returned to the Black Stars line-up this spring after three years in the international wilderness and now he gets his shot in the biggest tournament of them all.
