Young-Pyo Lee Profile

The sort of player every coach loves to have, this guy is disciplined, industrious and versatile enough to play at left-back, left-wing-back or in the centre of midfield.

Lee combines defensive rigour with plenty of attacking vim and he usually operates out wide at international level, where he can exploit his vitality and skill.

After playing a key role in his country's march to the semi-finals of World Cup 2002, the ex-Anyang Cheetahs star followed his erstwhile national coach Guus Hiddink to PSV Eindhoven and enjoyed three fine seasons with the Philips club, winning two domestic league titles (2003, 2005) and helping PSV reach the Champions League semis last season. He moved to Tottenham Hotspur of the Premiership last summer.

He is portrayed as a modest, clean-living, pious guy who is not easily parted with his cash and one of his national team mates Lee Chun-soo famously described him as 'stingy'.
