Everton have confirmed that defender Joseph Yobo will join Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal.

Yobo, 29, will join Fener after he successfully completed a medical and agreed personal terms with the Turkish club and the deal could be made permanent at the end of the season.

The Nigeria international joined Everton from Tenerife in July 2002, initially on loan, and has made 196 Premier League appearances for the Toffees.

However, he has seen his first-team status slip over the past 12 months and started only 14 league games under David Moyes last season.

''Joseph Yobo has completed his season-long loan move to Fenerbahce,'' a statement on the club's website read. ''The deal, which includes the option to make the transfer permanent when the loan ends next summer, was completed on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the closure of the Turkish transfer window.''
