NEW YORK -- DC United coach Curt Onalfo and Chivas USA midfielder Michael Lahoud have been suspended two games each by the MLS.
Onalfo was disciplined for leaving his technical area and for improper behavior after he was ejected during a U.S. Open Cup play-in win over FC Dallas on April 28. MLS's disciplinary committee added one game to the automatic one-game penalty and fined him $1,000 Tuesday.
He will serve the suspension in U.S. Open Cup matches, starting with a June 2 game against Real Salt Lake.
Lahoud was penalized for a reckless tackle on Justin Mapp in Saturday's 1-1 tie against the Chicago Fire. He was not issued a yellow or red card, but MLS decided the tackle was "egregious" and fined him $500. He will sit Wednesday against New England and Saturday against Houston.
