Kaka sidelined for Valladolid clash

March 13, 2010

Real Madrid playmaker Kaka has been ruled out of Sunday's Primera Division trip to Real Valladolid through injury.

The £56 million summer signing from AC Milan played 77 minutes of Wednesday's Champions League match with Lyon but he will not be involved tomorrow due to a muscle problem in his left thigh.

Aside from the loss of Kaka, Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has the same squad available to him as the one that beat Sevilla 3-2 last weekend, with Pepe, Karim Benzema and Royston Drenthe again missing through injury.

Madrid moved to the top of the Primera Division table with that win over Sevilla but they suffered a big setback in midweek as they were knocked out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage for the sixth successive season.
