Derby County are ''not for sale'' according to chief executive Tom Glick, after the club were the subject of a takeover bid from former chairman Peter Gadsby.

Gadsby tabled a £37 million bid for the Pride Park outfit on Thursday, with plans to give the fans a 10% stake in the club, but Glick maintains that the club won't be changing hands.

"I can categorically say the club is not for sale," he told Sky Sports News. "It's an unwelcome approach and we're carrying on our business for the day which includes signing a goalkeeper and training for tomorrow's match against Doncaster.

"The club is not for sale, we're not interested. We're working a long term plan that's going to bring sustained success to the club.

"Nigel Clough as manager is a key part of that and we have a club right now that's in a stronger financial position than it's been in a long time, and we just need to continue to work to that plan.

"I don't think I'm at liberty to go into the numbers. I think the important message is that the club is not for sale. Any bid, including this bid, is not welcome and we're not for sale."
