Real Madrid playmaker Kaka believes he has shaken off a lingering groin injury and his form is improving after an unspectacular start to life in the Spanish capital.

Kaka has struggled to make the same impact as Cristiano Ronaldo since the pair moved to the Bernabeu last summer, but the Brazil international scored in Real's 3-0 home victory over Espanyol on Saturday, and he inisisted that there is more to come from him in a merengues shirt.

"Last week it was said that (my injury) was something chronic and that's not true," Kaka said. "I am improving in each training session and each match and I can do the things that I like on the pitch. Before, I was not very good physically and it was affecting me a lot."

Real Madrid's victory over Espanyol kept them five points behind leaders Barcelona, and Manuel Pellegrini's side must also turn their attention to a Champions League away clash with Lyon next Tuesday.
