With Cristiano Ronaldo serving a suspension in recent games and Lassana Diarra absent through injury, Madrid have found a successful formula with Granero, Guti, Xabi Alonso and Kaka giving the side balance.

And while Madrid still trail reigning champions Barca by five points in the table, Granero remains confident of regaining the title.

"I am still yet to produce my best game for Real Madrid," he told the Madrid press. "It is very easy to play with Xabi, Guti and Kaka.

"Pellegrini made clear from the beginning that he will not rely on the same players every game. We play with depth and we had the possession and control of the ball, which is what we like.

"Barca have maintained their five-point advantage, but that can be overcome. We know that we cannot fail - we are thinking positive. It is clear that we can reach them."

Granero, 22, came up through the Madrid academy and rejoined the club from Getafe in the summer.

Meanwhile, Kaka has said he has now shaken off a lingering groin injury and believes he is getting better and better after a disappointing start to his Madrid career.

"Last week it was said that (my injury) was something chronic and that's not true," Kaka said. "I am improving in each training session and each match and I can do the things that I like on the pitch. Before I was not very good physically and it was affecting me a lot."
