Blanc tight-lipped over Bordeaux future

Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc insists he will not answer any questions regarding his future until the end of the season.

Laurent Blanc has forged a successful side at Bordeaux.

Reports suggest the French Football Federation have earmarked Blanc to replace the unpopular Raymond Domenech when his contract runs out after the 2010 World Cup finals.

There are also suggestions that the 44-year-old is being lined up as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor at Manchester United - where Blanc spent the final two years of his playing career.

The highly-rated coach, who has a contract at Bordeaux until 2011, has grown increasingly fed up with the constant questioning and will now remain tight-lipped on the matter for the rest of the campaign.

"From now on, as soon as you ask me questions about my future of the France team, I will not respond,'' Blanc said.

"I am in my right because I am at Bordeaux and there is a season to finish, a season to do well and it's a lack of respect to the club to talk about the national team.

"I don't want to fuel all this, that's it, it's 'nyet' [sic] until May 15 for me.''

This is only Blanc's third season in management, but he has been widely acclaimed for steering Bordeaux to the Ligue 1 title last season, ending Lyon's Iron grip on La Championnat.
