Italian Cup: Sampdoria knocked out by Livorno
Sampdoria's miserable week continued this evening as they were dumped out of the Coppa Italia with a 2-1 home defeat by Livorno in the last 16.

Luigi Del Neri's side were seeking a boost after suffering a 3-0 reverse against derby rivals Genoa in Serie A at the weekend but a late Tomas Danilevicius brace for visiting Livorno heaped more misery on Samp.
Daniele Mannini fired the hosts into the lead a minute after the break but Lithuania international Danilevicius struck after 76 minutes and again four minutes from time to seal the win for Livorno.
In the night's other last-16 tie, Triestina won the battle of the Serie B clubs as they edged out Sassuolo 1-0, Marko Stankovic with the only goal after 54 minutes.
Catania host second tier Empoli on Wednesday in the final tie of the fourth round with the one-leg last 16 matches taking place over December and January.
