Bergkamp bids farewell to Arsenal in 2006
Bergkamp, 40, retired from the game in 2006 after an impressive career with Ajax, Inter Milan, Arsenal and Netherlands. He has since trained as a coach under Arsene Wenger and has previously expressed an interest in taking on a role at Emirates Stadium.
And, speaking to Dutch magazine JFK this week, Bergkamp has again hinted that he would like to work under Wenger and coach the strikers at the club.
"I want to work and train a team in England," he said. "Not as a head coach but instead as a member of staff, where I could work specifically with the strikers.
"Being a coach means you have to work 24 hours a day and that does not suit me. You have to watch matches at home, travel to see other teams, prepare training - it is something that I am not ready to do."
