Barry Ferguson: Back in the fold?

The controversial midfielder joined the Blues in the summer after a high-profile falling out with both the Ibrox hierarchy and the Scottish Football Association.

The move reunited the 31-year-old with his former manager Alex McLeish and he feels it could not have gone better.

"I'm loving my football here," Ferguson told the club's official website. "It's the first time in a long time that I'm enjoying my football. I couldn't have settled any better.''

Spirits are high at Birmingham following the club's recent takeover and a four-game unbeaten run that has seen Alex McLeish

Ferguson admits, however, that the first priority remains avoiding relegation.

"I think everybody at the end of the season would take fourth bottom," he added. "But we're progressing well under the management of the gaffer so hopefully come January we can add to the squad we've got.

"You can see what we're trying to do on the park and the way we're trying to play and I think if you ask any of the fans they would be happy with the progression. Hopefully we can take it on.''
