Press reports suggested Keane would be fired

Keane has won just three league games since replacing Jim Magilton in April and saw his side held to a goalless draw by Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

That left Ipswich with just 13 points from 17 games and they are only being kept off the bottom of the Championship by Peterborough, although they are now on a six-game unbeaten run.

Reports suggested the former Sunderland boss was set to be shown the door on Monday after a board meeting on Sunday, but a club spokesman has insisted there is no change in management planned.

"Reports in the press this morning that Roy will be sacked are complete rubbish," he said. "There were no meetings over the weekend and Roy remains in charge."
