St Etienne struck by second swine flu case

Ligue 1 club St Etienne have confirmed they have been struck by a second case of swine flu.

Brazilian striker Ilan was hospitalised with swine flu on Friday.

The players and staff were placed in quarantine over the weekend after Brazilian attacker Ilan was hospitalised with the virus on Friday.

And a statement on the club's official website, revealed that another player has fallen sick.

"A second member of the St Etienne squad has been affected by swine flu. At the minute he is resting at home after [receiving] treatment," the statement said.

The club have not announced the player's identity is but reports suggest it is young striker Emmanuel Riviere.
