Big guns rolled out again for Oman
Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek has named a virtually full-strength squad for this month's Asian Cup qualifier in Oman.Australia have the chance to move into a strong position to qualify for the 2011 tournament with a win in the match in Muscat on November 14.With the fixture falling on a double FIFA match date, Verbeek has opted to again select a predominantly Europe-based squad, as he did for last month's 1-0 win over Oman in Melbourne.Palermo midfielder Mark Bresciano returns to the squad after a knee injury kept him out of the recent matches against Oman and the Netherlands, to join the likes of Tim Cahill, Lucas Neill and Harry Kewell.Three A-League players were named in the squad with Perth Glory's Mile Sterjovski recalled for the first time since June alongside domestic stars Jason Culina and Craig Moore.Genclerbirligi striker Bruce Djite and Middlesbrough goalkeeper Brad Jones have also earned recalls.Blackburn midfielder Vince Grella has been left out of the squad after picking up a thigh injury against the Netherlands while Celtic striker Scott McDonald was also omitted.Despite a disappointing start to the qualification campaign, Australia are top of their four-team group with three matches left to play. The top two teams in the group qualify for the 2011 tournament in Qatar.
