The French defender will be out for up to a month.

The left-back's withdrawal is a big blow to the Gunners, with the Frenchman set to miss two European clashes and three league games including the visit of Premier League leaders Chelsea to the Emirates on November 29.

20-year-old Kieran Gibbs, who made 21 appearances for the Gunners last season and already has two league starts under his belt this campaign, is likely to deputise in Clichy's absence.
