Former Tottenham target Appiah signs for Bologna

Bologna have announced the signing of Ghana midfielder Stephen Appiah.

Appiah has been a free agent since leaving Fenerbahce

Appiah, 28, has been without a club since leaving Fenerbahce last year - after he struggled to overcome a knee injury.

Trials at Tottenham and Rubin Kazan failed to result in a contract offer, although Appiah has remained a key figure for his country in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Bologna are fourth bottom in Serie A, and the 28-year-old's arrival should add creativity to their midfield.
