Danny Pugh: New Stoke contract
The versatile 26-year-old, who has operated in a number of positions for the Potters since joining from Preston in 2007, is now committed to the club until the summer of 2012. Pugh has made only three appearances so far this season and recently expressed his frustration at a lack of first-team action.
However, following a discussion with manager Tony Pulis, he insists he is more than happy to stay with Stoke. Pugh told the club's official website: "The manager told me I still had a big part to play here and when you're not playing it is reassuring to hear that. I'm confident I can get back into the team on a regular basis, even though we have such a big squad.''
Potters boss Pulis added: "Danny has been excellent value for this football club in every respect. He's always been a good pro and thoroughly reliable, just the kind of player you want to keep around the place.''
