Maicon's agent declares transfer saga "over"

Maicon looks certain to stay at Inter Milan after his agent said the Brazilian's transfer saga is over.

The defender has been a target for a string of club's, including Chelsea and Manchester City.

"Above everything, the wish of the player is to remain at Inter,'' said Maicon's agent Antonio Caliendo to Gazzetta dello Sport. "(Inter president Massimo) Moratti and coach (Jose) Mourinho are aware they have the strongest full-back in the world.

"I truly believe that this saga is over.''

Maicon, who shone at the Confederations Cup with Brazil this month, demanded a pay increase from Inter although the club did not give in to the 27-year-old's demands.

Maicon is under contract with Inter until June 2013.
