Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal face a tough task to even get into the play-offs.

The Portuguese winger landed on a private jet just after midday before being transferred to the Hospital Sanitas La Moraleja.

Real Madrid's doctor confirmed that he had passed the medical examination, saying he was in "perfect" condition.

The 24-year-old will now put the finishing touches to his £80million move, before being introduced to fans at the Bernabeu at 2100 local time.

An estimated 80,000 spectators are expected to attend, with many flocking into the ground already.

Carlos Diez, Real Madrid's medical chief, told the club's website: "(Ronaldo) is in perfect condition and very eager to start the season as soon as possible. He has an extraordinary cardiac and lung capacity. We have complemented everything that we already did in Portugal and done all the specific tests.

"Now we will be able to start working using an individual plan in order to improve his performance. For him (Ronaldo), it's a dream, and this dream starts to convert into reality from today.''

Ronaldo, the reigning FIFA World Player of the Year, will be the third new signing presented by Madrid since Florentino Perez returned to the club presidency at the start of June.

Brazil star Kaka, who cost a reported £56milllion from AC Milan, was unveiled in front of around 55,000 people at the Bernabeu last Tuesday while Spain international Raul Albiol was presented on Thursday following his move from Valencia.

Madrid have also agreed a deal with Lyon for their striker Karim Benzema for an initial fee of £30million, a transfer that takes the Spanish giants' summer spending close to the £200million mark.

Hundreds of fans are already queueing up outside the Bernabeu for what is set to be one of the biggest-ever attendances for a player presentation.

Ronaldo had already undergone initial medical tests with the Spanish giants while on holiday in Portugal last month, which the player claimed at the time had gone "perfectly''.
