Perrotta: Linked with a Bundesliga move

Reports in Germany claimed Perrotta, who is under contract with Roma for a further year, is a target of German giants Bayern Munich and champions Wolfsburg.

"I want to clarify that Perrotta is a Roma player," said Perrotta's agent Giuseppe Bozzo told Corriere dello Sport.

"He has expressed his wish to remain at Roma until the end of his contract. The market rumours hold no truth."

Roma have been involved in a takeover in recent weeks and the Eternal City club have yet to approach the 31-year-old over extending his deal.

The Italy international made 32 league starts as Roma finished sixth in Serie A last season.

Meanwhile, the proposed sale of Roma has collapsed after a month of negotiations, the club have confirmed.

Roma's parent company Italpetroli, controlled by the family of club president Rosella Sensi , announced on Friday that negotiations to sell the majority stake to a Swiss conglomorate headed by Vinicio Fioranelli had fallen through.

A statement read: "With regards to the interest expressed by Vinicio Fioranelli, via a Swiss company, to acquire the majority shares for AS Roma, Italpetroli company states that as of today, despite the efforts taken, there are no conditions to continue with an eventual agreement."

The Sensi family were set to sell their 67% stake to Fioranelli for a reported 200m euros.

Roma, who finished sixth in Serie A last season, were at the centre of takeover speculation last year when billionaire financier George Soros showed interest before talks end
