Marseille skipper Cana escapes with one-game ban
Marseille captain Lorik Cana has escaped with a one-match ban after being sent off following an ugly skirmish with Lorient's Arnaud Le Lan in last weekend's Ligue 1 match between the two sides.
The two players fought on the ground after disputing a throw-in in the 88th minute of the game and Cana was seen clenching his fist, giving the impression he was going to punch Le Lan.
Both players avoided a lengthy ban, though, with the league's disciplinary commission hitting them with a one-match suspension along with a one-game suspended ban which will be brought into effect following any future discretion.
It means Cana will miss the league leaders visit to Lille on Sunday but will be free to feature in the rest of his side's championship run-in.
