CHELSEA SEEK CUDICINI REPLACEMENT

Viola keeper Storari tipped to join Chelsea

January 28, 2009

Marco Storari's agent expects the Fiorentina goalkeeper to complete his switch to Chelsea later on Wednesday.

Storari, 32, is actually owned by AC Milan but has spent the past two seasons on loan at Levante, Cagliari and currently Fiorentina.

He will do battle with Hilario for the reserve goalkeeper's position following Carlo Cudicini's move to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.

However, Claudio Vigorelli insists that any deal does not depend on Branislav Ivanovic moving the other way.

"Everything has not been finalised yet," he told Tutto Mercato. "But we expect confirmation some time today.

"Certainly it has nothing to do with the Ivanovic story."

Ivanovic has only made six appearances since arriving at Stamford Bridge 12 months ago, and the former Lokomotiv Moscow defender's agent recently confirmed they are in talks with Fiorentina.
