Manucho joins Hull on loan, Finnan medical

Hull City have completed the signing of Manchester United striker Manucho on loan until the end of the season.

The Angolan frontman has made one Premier League appearance for United, who let him spend part of last season on loan at Panathinaikos.

Hull boss Phil Brown is optimistic Manucho will be a useful addition to his squad. He said: ''The lad is a proven goalscorer at certain levels, though not yet at Premier League level.

''He is 6ft 3in, 6ft 4in, great stature, he has a good eye for goal, and is certainly good aerially.''

Hull have secured a work permit for the 25-year-old and he will able to play in Saturday's match against Arsenal, while the club are also expected to complete the signing of former Liverpool defender Steve Finnan in the coming week.

Brown said the club were still hoping to do a deal with Finnan, but insisted the club would have to be completely satisfied about the full-back's fitness.

"It is a long way from being complete," said Brown. "He has been injured and I think he has only played four games for Espanyol, which is a concern of ours, hence the reason he has undergone a medical to the extent he has.

"We are pulling out all the stops. We are making sure we are doing this one properly."

One deal already completed is that for winger Kevin Kilbane, who signed a two-and-a-half-year contract on Thursday.

Kilbane, who is likely to go straight into the squad for Saturday's visit of Arsenal, said: ''I've hardly played a game and that is why this season has been a bit disappointing from my point of view.

''Hopefully, over the next few games, I'll get my match fitness back up to full speed and get playing until the end of the season, although the team has done that well it will be difficult to get into the side.''

Two arrivals that now seem less likely to happen are those of Luis Boa Morte and Dean Whitehead.

West Ham United midfielder Boa Morte was reported to have rejected Hull's advances late on Thursday while Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia said Whitehead was not for sale.
