Agent: Navarro to Sevilla deal not yet done
LA PALMA, June 14 (Primera Liga) - Fernando Navarro's agent has denied reports the Real Mallorca defender has finalised a move to Primera Liga rivals Sevilla.
Reports in Spain on Friday suggested the 25-year-old had been signed as a replacement for right-back Dani Alves, who joined Barcelona earlier in the week. However Navarro's agent, Jose Maria Orobitg, claims that while talks are in progress his client is not a Sevilla player yet. 'The matter of the player is not fully closed,' Orobitg told Spanish newspaper AS. 'I don't know if Sevilla and Mallorca have agreed terms. I don't know if this will be sorted out this weekend. 'What's for sure is that there is an offer, but they (Mallorca) have to reply. 'In principle, there are some differences, but the deal is not closed because there is no consent (from Mallorca) nor a definitive agreement with the player.' On Friday, Spanish newspaper Marca claimed that Navarro was set to join the Andalusian side for a fee of 4.7million euros, with Sevilla's defensive midfielder Marti heading in the opposite direction as part of the deal. Navarro recently capped off a great season with Mallorca by being selected in Luis Aragones' Spain squad for Euro 2008.
