Felipe Scolari acknowledged the 'great form' of Cristiano Ronaldo when he named his Portugal squad for Euro 2008.
Ronaldo has been in sparkling form for Manchester United this season, scoring on Sunday as United clinched the Premier League title with a 2-0 win at Wigan.
Scolari said of the player who has scored 41 goals for his club this season:
'I cannot guarantee he will be in the same form as he has been having at
Manchester United.
'In the national team he plays alongside players with different
characteristics to the ones he plays with at Manchester United. But there is no
doubt that he is in great form.'
There is also a place for Ronaldo's United team-mate Nani.
Chelsea defenders Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira are joined in the squad
by the Blues' new signing Jose Bosingwa.
Inter Milan midfielder Nuno Maniche was not included in Scolari's squad,
despite being a key player in recent Portugal squads.
Portugal have been drawn in Group A alongside Switzerland, Turkey and Czech
Republic, and Scolari has set his team a target of making it through the group
stages.
