BERLIN, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Werder Bremen midfielder Diego has been banned for three matches after he was sent off during Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt for barging Ioannis Amanatidis, the German soccer federation (DFB) said on Monday.
Werder, in second place in the Bundesliga four points behind
Bayern Munich, have accepted the punishment and the Brazilian
will miss matches against Borussia Dortmund, VfB Stuttgart and
VfL Wolfsburg, the club said on its website.
Diego will be eligible to play in Werder's UEFA Cup ties
against Rangers on March 6 and March 13, the DFB said.
