Doncaster scored twice from the spot to close the gap at the top of League One table with a 2-0 win victory over Bristol Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Aaron Lescott had brought down Richard Wellens inside the area and midfielder
Brian Stock converted the resulting penalty in the 62nd minute to give Rovers
the lead.
Anthony Pulis then handled in second-half injury-time and Paul Heffernan
despatched the spot kick past goalkeeper Steve Phillips to seal the points.
Swansea still have a comfortable seven-point lead over second-placed Doncaster
at the top of the table despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Crewe at Gresty
Road.
Roberto Martinez's side had taken the lead after Jason Scotland scored from
the penalty spot following Dan Woodard's foul on Andy Robinson.
Crewe midfielder Gary Roberts put through his own net five minutes before
half-time but Julien Baudet (82) and Tom Pope's dramatic 90th-minute equaliser
gave the Railwaymen a share of the points.
Nottingham Forest remain four points outside the automatic promotion places in
third place after a 2-0 win over Millwall thanks to goals from Julian Bennett
(48) and Luke Chambers (58).
Bottom side Port Vale held promotion hopefuls Carlisle to a 1-1 draw after
Paul Harsley's 84th-minute penalty cancelled out Joe Garner's 62nd-minute
opener.
Goals from Lee Holmes (67) and Kevin Betsy (90) ensured Walsall's bid to make
the play-offs remained on course with a 2-0 win over Yeovil at the Bescot
Stadium.
Tranmere occupy the final play-off place despite being held to a 1-1 draw at
Prenton Park by Leyton Orient after Calvin Zola's second-minute goal was
equalised by Adam Chambers three minutes from time.
Leeds missed the chance to climb into the play-off zone after they battled to
a 1-1 draw at Northampton. Cobblers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa (75) came from the
bench to equalise after Jonathan Howson's (38) opener for the visitors.
A brace from Jo Kuffour (14 and 84) helped Bournemouth respond to their recent
financial troubles with a 4-1 hammering of fellow strugglers Luton at Kenilworth
Road.
Sam Vokes (13) and Max-Alain Gradel (45) got the other goals for the Cherries
while Lewis Emanuel scored a 50th-minute consolation for the home side.
Gillingham are two points above the relegation zone in 19th place after they
suffered a 2-1 away defeat to Oldham.
Dennis Oli (25) had given the Gills the lead but Chris Taylor (42) and Craig
Davies (67) handed Oldham the points while Phil Jevons first-minute strike gave
Huddersfield a 1-0 home win over Swindon.
Elsewhere Cheltenham came from a goal down to claim a dramatic late victory
over Brighton at Whaddon Road.
The visitors had taken the lead in the 55th minute through Steven Thomson but
goals in second-half injury time from Alex Russell and Steven Gillespie saw the
Robins steal the points.
Southend scored twice in five minutes to earn a 2-1 win over a Hartlepool side
reduced to 10 men at Roots Hall.
Antony Sweeney had put the visitors ahead in the ninth minute but Alan
McCormack (61) and Nick Bailey (66) struck either side of Sam Collins'
64th-minute red card.
