League One: Leeds continue upwards march
Leeds moved into the League One play-off positions with a slender 2-1 win over Swindon at Elland Road.
The hosts were gifted the lead after 32 minutes when Hasney Aljofree handled the ball in the penalty area and Jermaine Beckford stepped up to thrash home his ninth goal of the campaign. But just a minute after the break Swindon were level as Lee Peacock met Simon Cox's cross to slot home. Leeds bounced back in style as Beckford volleyed home Tresor Kandol's cross to seal the win and move Dennis Wise's side into fourth. Dean Cox's header 15 minutes from full-time salvaged a point for Brighton as they drew 2-2 with Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road. Wayne Gray had put the hosts ahead with a thumping volley after 27 minutes before Nicky Forster levelled after 68 minutes. Albion's joy was short-lived, though, as Jason Demetriou restored Orient's lead two minutes later before Cox popped up to ensure a share of the spoils. Bristol Rovers striker Lewis Haldane scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to secure a 2-1 win over Millwall. Millwall went ahead after just eight minutes as Ali Fuseini drilled home from long range. But Rovers pulled level 12 minutes from time through Rickie Lambert's penalty after Zak Whitbread had felled Andrew Williams, before Haldane popped up at the death. Oldham and Port Vale played out a 1-1 draw at Boundary Park. Craig Davies put the Latics ahead after 23 minutes with a header from close range. But Vale were level nine minutes later as Callum Willock netted with a sublime finish. Southend came from two goals down to snatch a draw against basement side Cheltenham. The Robins took the lead after 14 minutes when Steven Gillespie nodded home David Bird's teasing cross. Things got even better for them 11 minutes later as Dean Sinclair stole a march on his marker to double their advantage. Southend started the second half with renewed purpose and pulled a goal back after 50 minutes through Mark Gower before drawing level thanks to Steven Hammell. Ryan Lowe scored the only goal as Crewe beat Northampton, while Doncaster and Walsall were both held to goalless draws at home by Tranmere and Luton respectively.
