MADRID, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Real Mallorca striker Daniel Guiza was coach Luis Aragones's surprise inclusion on Friday when he named a 20-man Spain squad for the decisive Euro 2008 qualifiers at home to Sweden and Northern Ireland in Group F.
The uncapped 27-year-old comes in for Liverpool striker
Fernando Torres who has been struggling with a groin strain
recently and lacks match fitness.
Guiza is the Primera Liga's joint second highest scorer with
six goals, and top scored for Getafe last season with 17 in all
competitions.
He joins Valencia's David Villa and Espanyol's Raul Tamudo
in competing for a starting place up front. Espanyol's Luis
Garcia missed out from last time.
Tamudo retains his place after being called up at the last
minute as a replacement for the injured Villa, and then starting
after Torres also succumbed to injury, in the qualifier against
Denmark last month.
He scored one and set up a second in the 3-1 away win.
Brazilian-born midfielder Marcos Senna, who was in last
year's World Cup squad, returns to the side after a strong start
to the league campaign with in-form Villarreal.
He last played for Spain back in November last year and
edges out Valencia's Miguel Angel Angulo.
Spain have their destiny in their own hands and home
advantage. However, they are wary after losing 2-0 away to
Sweden in October last year, a month after Northern Ireland had
inflicted a shock 3-2 defeat over them in Belfast.
Sweden top the group by a point from Spain, who are five
clear of third-placed Denmark and fourth-placed Northern
Ireland.
Spain host Sweden in the Bernabeu on Nov 17, and face
Northern Ireland in Las Palmas four days later.
