Convey injures leg in training
READING, England -- American midfielder Bobby Convey limped out of training Thursday, two days after scoring his first goal for Reading since recovering from a serious knee injury.
Convey has not started a Premier League match for 11 months, but his goal in Tuesday's 4-2 League Cup defeat to Liverpool had put him in line for a place in the starting lineup against Portsmouth on Saturday.
"Bobby has tweaked something right at the top of his leg," Reading manager Steve Coppell said. "He is massively disappointed. That will take him out of contention, I would think, for the weekend."
The 24-year-old Convey hurt his knee during the 2006 World Cup in Germany and had surgery in December and March.
Convey joined Reading from D.C. United in 2004. He has eight goals in 86 appearances for the Royals.
