Reading winger Bobby Convey has suffered yet another injury setback.
The USA international limped out of training earlier today with a leg injury
and is now expected to miss Saturday's trip to Portsmouth.
The 24-year-old had been desperate to play at Fratton Park - the scene of his
last Premier League start 11 months ago.
Most of 2007 had been spent battling back to fitness following major knee
surgery and a fine goal against Liverpool in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night
had put him in contention for a recall as Royals boss Steve Coppell searches for
a solution to his problems on the right flank.
But now the winger, whose place on the left has been claimed by Stephen Hunt,
is back on the sidelines once more.
Coppell said: 'Bobby has tweaked something right at the top of his leg. He is
massively disappointed. That will take him out of contention I would think for
the weekend.
'He crossed the ball and something went and he had to come in for a bit of
treatment. He tried it in a five a side but had to come in again. I can't see
him being fit tomorrow morning.'
