ROME, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Francesco Totti will miss AS Roma's midweek visit to Fiorentina because of a thigh strain, the Serie A leaders said on Tuesday.
Coach Luciano Spalletti is confident his side will cope
without the striker.
'A great team cannot depend on one single player,' Spalletti
told a news conference.
Roma are also without Italy midfielder Simone Perrotta, who
has 'flu, and injured right back Marco Cassetti for the trip to
Tuscany.
Totti will rest in order to recover for Saturday's home
clash with champions Inter Milan and next week's Champions
League match at Manchester United.
The player, who turns 31 on Thursday, has scored five goals
in the last four games.
The 2006 World Cup-winner announced his retirement from
international duty in July after bagging the European Golden
Boot last term with 26 league goals.
