Spain striker David Villa wants to remain at Valencia despite reports linking
him with a move to the Premiership this summer.
The 25-year-old marksman has been a target of top English clubs for the past
year, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool reportedly battling to
acquire his services.
However, Villa, who is under contract with the La Liga outfit until June 2013
and has a buy-out clause of £100million, believes his future lies at La
Mestalla.
'My wish is to stay here,' said Villa. 'Not only this year but in the
future because I am under contract and I hope I can extend it.
'In any case, we will have to wait and see what happens this summer.'
Villa's reputation has grown since joining Valencia in 2005 from Real
Zaragoza.
He has scored 15 goals in 35 league appearances this campaign, helping
Valencia secure fourth position in the Primera Liga, which guarantees Champions
League football next season.
