Mandaric linked to £25m Leicester takeover

October 30, 2006

Leicester are investigating methods of 'generating new investment' amid continued speculation that former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric is poised to take over the Coca-Cola Championship club.

Mandaric this month reported there was a '50-50 chance' of him taking over at the Walkers Stadium - and he was linked with a £25million bid for City over the weekend.

A statement released by Leicester read: 'We can confirm that the club has been actively looking at methods of generating new investment.

'Discussions have been held with a number of interested parties, and the board is currently considering a variety of options.

'The club will communicate further with shareholders, supporters and staff as soon as is practicably possible.'
