Nash completes switch to Deepdale
Preston have completed the signing of Middlesbrough goalkeeper Carlo Nash on a three-and-a-half-year deal for a fee which could rise to £175,000.
QPR keeper Chris Day ended his month-long loan spell at Deepdale after Saturday's 2-0 victory against Watford. Lilywhites boss Billy Davies had been looking to wrap up a long-term deal for Day before tomorrow's transfer deadline. But Davies has instead swooped for former Manchester City star Nash, who made just five appearances for Boro in his two years at the Riverside Stadium. Davies told the club's official website: 'We know all about his goalkeeping, he's worked at some very big clubs in the past few years. I think he's been very unfortunate because he has had to be understudy to some top goalkeepers. 'We know all about his background. We know all about his ability and we're delighted he's here.'
