Neymar added to his growing reputation with a stunning strike to open the scoring for the Copa Libertadores winners as they defeated their hosts with three brilliant goals at the Toyota Stadium.

Hiroki Sakai briefly gave the Japanese side hope by making it 2-1 in the 54th minute after first-half efforts from Neymar and Borges, but Danilo soon restored the Brazilian club's two-goal cushion with a fine free-kick.

Santos will face either Barcelona or Al-Sadd in Sunday's final in Yokohama and, after the game, Neymar told El Mundo Deportivo: "Against Barcelona, I can show more than I showed today.

"They have the two best centre-backs in the world - Puyol and Pique. Barcelona are without doubt the best team in the world."

Monterrey came from behind to beat Esperance 3-2 and secure victory in the fifth-place play-off.

Goals from Hiram Mier, Aldo De Nigris and Jesus Zavala enabled the Mexican side to overcome the loss of injured striker Humberto Suazo and see off their opponents in Toyota.
