Esperance defender Banana Yaya is hoping his side can overcome the disappointment of missing out on a glamour clash with Barcelona and secure fifth place at the FIFA Club World Cup on Wednesday.
The African champions outplayed Al-Sadd in Sunday's quarter-final but lost 2-1 and were therefore deprived of a meeting with Lionel Messi and Co.
Instead they face a Monterrey side who were beaten 4-3 on penalties by Kashiwa in their last-eight clash.
Yaya told fifa.com: "Defeat to Al-Sadd was very hard to swallow, but we are professionals and we must overcome this situation.
"The job for us now is to concentrate for the next game and of course we will be motivated for that challenge.''
Monterrey had their own hard luck tale to tell after spot-kicks were required to separate them from home favourites Kashiwa.
Coach Victor Vucetich is expecting the Mexicans' professionalism to shine through against Esperance, though.
He said: "As we have lost, we now have to play in the 'losers' game, but as professionals we want to play our best possible match.
"We played well (against Kashiwa) and we want to do the same in this game. We will give everything. We're happy to be part of this tournament and I am sure the players will learn from this experience.''
