Argentina Clausura Review

Argentinos Juniors held at home

February 13, 2012

Argentinos Juniors were unable to make their one-man advantage count as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Union Santa Fe as both sides made a goalless start to their Argentinian Clausura campaigns.

The visitors had Fausto Montero sent off after 63 minutes but held out for nearly half an hour to earn a draw. A point apiece left Argentinos 10th in the fledgling table and Union 14th.

Dario Gandin scored twice as Atletico Rafaela defeated 10-man Banfield 3-0. Matias Fissore also scored and to make matters worse for Banfield they had Alejandro Defino sent off with eight minutes remaining for a second bookable offence.

Facundo Castillon scored for Godoy Cruz who earned a 1-1 draw away to Velez Sarsfield who had taken the lead through Mauro Obolo.

The game between Racing Club and Tigre ended in a 0-0 draw.
