Carlos announces intention to retire
Brazil legend Roberto Carlos has revealed he intends to retire in December.

Carlos, 38, is contracted to Anzhi Makhachkala until June 2013 and is currently acting in a player-manager capacity, but he is set to take on a boardroom role at the end of the year.
"In December I have the possibility to stop playing," he told Marca. "After that I will carry on in the club as assistant to the chairman Suleyman Kerimov.
"He has asked me to help create a structure in the club for the next ten years. I am not going because I am injured but rather because my sporting career is already complete. I have been with Palmeiras, Inter, Real Madrid... I have lived everything I had to live as a player."
Carlos won the 2002 World Cup with Brazil as well as the Copa America in both 1997 and 1999, while his club career is most notable for an 11-year stint with Real Madrid in which he won the Champions League three times and four La Liga titles.
