Inter Milan booked their place in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals with a 2-1 win at home to Genoa.

Maicon put the hosts in front in the ninth minute and Andrea Poli doubled their lead five minutes into the second half.

Valter Birsa pulled one back for Genoa in the 90th minute, but by then Inter were home and dry.

Inter now face a difficult trip to Napoli in the last eight, a fixture which will take place on Wednesday, January 25.
