Reina was appealing for a handball there, but it looked a legitimate goal.
Babel has another good chance to extend Liverpool's advantage, but he pulls it well wide as he comes into the left of the area. Disappointing.

Bastos is just unable to control a ball into the box. Liverpool are completely lacking fluency right now.
Lyon have to re-take the corner, and the second attempt is much too deep and dealt with by Kuyt. Liverpool are searching for a way back into this game.

Makoun nearly finds a gap in the Liverpool defence, but Gomis is offside.
The ball comes to Kuyt out on the right, but the cross fails to test Lyon.

There's a bit of pinball in the Lyon area but it never quite breaks for Liverpool and the hosts clear.
Torres nearly plays a clever ball on for Voronin, but the Ukraine striker loses out to the defender.

It's half-time and Liverpool can be happy enough with their efforts. They should be ahead and need to improve their shooting in the second half if they are to take the win, though.

Lyon break away with Lisandro but he pulls it back and the chance is lost. Liverpool attack on the break, but Cissokho gets the better of Torres. Liverpool corner.
Voronin takes again but still can't do any damage.
Toulalon concedes a free-kick.
Lyon have a free-kick from near the halfway line but it's wasted. Lyon look poor and will be keen for the half-time whistle.
Voronin wastes the corner and, although the ball comes back to him, his second cross goes straight to Lloris.

Agger steals the ball from Gomis as he looks to break through.
Liverpool have established real control over the possession.
Gassama makes an excellent challenge to deny Torres on the edge of the area.
Agger does well to reach the byline but his cut-back is woeful and eludes everyone.

Kuyt's shot is just tipped over the bar by Lloris! Benayoun and Insua do well down the left and Kuyt gets two bites of the cherry, hitting a dipping shot on the bounce on his second attempt.
Gomis attempts an ambitious effort and forces Reina into a save, albeit a relatively comfortable save.
Cissokho fizzes a ball across the box and Agger has to do well to divert it away from goal.
Confusion between Carragher and Kuyt on the right leads to an attack breaking down. Liverpool need to keep the momentum up now.
Voronin swings in a cross from out on the right but no one is there to meet it.
Torres gets a shot on goal but is denied by Lloris! He had space to fire on goal from the centre of the area but fails to beat the keeper.

Bastos fires in a shot on goal, but it's straight at Reina. Lyon have started on the front foot.
Makoun looks for Gomis again. Krygiakos was out of position there, but it comes to nothing.
