Auto Update:
Who would have imagined the Portsmouth fans would be disappointed by a 2-2 result with AC Milan, but it almost feels cruel at the last. Great stuff from both sides, though, and probably a fair result according to the head, if not the heart.
And there is the final whistle. Phew.
Crouch holds the ball up well in the Milan channel, and draws the foul from Antonini. Pompey will keep it there now, if they can.
Seven of the 21 goals Pompey have conceded have been in the last 15 minutes of games this season. The assistant shows three minutes of time added on.
Pato tries to pass the ball through the Portsmouth defence, but it eventually runs for a blue throw.
AC Milan turning the screw now, but somehow Pompey clatter the ball clear. Here come the Italians again, though, desperate to find a way through.
Pato drives into the Portsmouth area, and goes down, but no penalty. Milan corner.
Very poor free kick, and Milan soak it up.
And now Pompey win a free kick 35 yards out and central.
That really was a stunning free kick from Ronaldinho, curling beyond a despairing James into the top corner.
And now we're in for a tense final few minutes...
Free kick 30 yards out for Milan, quite central.
"Can we play you every week?" ask the Portsmouth fans of their visitors.
Johnson sends over a cross, after driving down the channel, but it's too long and runs for a throw.
Kanu receives thunderous applause as he makes way for Sean Davis. Pompey looking to stiffen the midfield.
Another cross, swung in by Seedorf, and it's high, wide and not very handsome. Goal kick.
Corner for Milan. Headed clear by Crouch.
Seedorf also on. Shevchenko, Gattuso and Kaka the men who've gone off.
Ronaldinho and Pato are on for Milan.
2-0. Kanu meets a low cross after amazing work on the right by Johnson, beating three men. All Kanu had to do was meet the ball two yards out, and he did it with aplomb.
Bouba Diop drives to the edge of the penalty area brilliantly, then unleashes a shot that nearly hits the corner flag.
Ole's ringing out around the ground, as Pompey pass the ball neatly.
Ball pings around the Milan area, after great skill from Kanu at the back post, but Hughes drives wide.
Ronaldinho and Pirlo are warming up on the Fratton Park touchlines, as Pompey win a corner.
Kanu so, so close to releasing Crouch into a one-on-one with Dida, but Antonini gets a stretched toe to it.
Traore races through the middle, ball goes wide, and Milan just clear a swinging cross. The Italians under pressure here.
The ref has apparently requested a tannoy announcement asking that fans stay in their seats. Fat chance.
Pompey are good for that goal. They have been the better side all night, even if their visitors have hit the woodwork twice.
Ooooh. Nasty slide by Antonini all the way through the back of Johnson. Yellow, but could have been worse.
The game has lost some of the frantic tempo of the first half.
Milan playing some neat stuff in the middle, until Emerson plays a dreadful 'into the channel' ball clear over James byline.
Johnson breaks up the right and tries to chip Dida from the corner of the area. No dice.
Kaka runs towards the area and unleashes a dangerous shot through a crowd of players, but there's no deflection, and James gathers thankfully.
Play resumes.
Bouba Diop still down, and the ref stops play for treatment.
Milan fails to get on a diagonal ball, but it goes for a corner. Chipped in, and James punches clear, but takes Bouba Diop with the ball, and the defender is down.
Away come Pompey, yet again down the left through the pacey Traore. He whips it in, but the Italians head clear.
Crunching tackle from Belhadj as Kaka runs onto a through ball.
Kanu twists and turns on the edge of the area but can't quite get his shot off and is eventually crowded out.
It's all a bit scrappy at the moment, although more pressure coming from Milan.
Long ball to Crouch results in a foul. Milan win it back.
Milan looking a little more composed in these first few minutes. Can Portsmouth keep the pressure on their illustrious visitors?
Now a stinging daisy-cutter from Shevchenko which hammers off the backboards behind the goal.
Kaka stings one goalwards! James scrambles across his goal to push wide.
No changes to either team so far, although Seedorf was warming up at half time.
And away we go, as Portsmouth kick off.
And here come the players for the second half, as the marching band leaves the pitch.
Corner blocked. Pompey throw, taken long, but scrambled clear. And the ref blows for half time.

Lovely turn from Traore, who is brought down by Zambrotta. Great position for a free kick, 30 yards out level with edge of area.
Johnson lofts in a high cross from deep, which ends up floating towards goal. Dida watches it carefully, but it's a couple of feet over the bar.
Kaka can't get the ball off Little in the midfield and ends up hacking him down from behind...
High cross from Glen Johnson, and Crouchinho leaps up for a trademark scissor kick, but he doesn't get a good connection, and it flies wide.
Ball in to Crouch from the left but he's beaten to it, and it's headed clear.
Belhadj and Traore causing more consternation for the Italians down the left. Their pace is creating problems there.
Long ball from the back by Milan but it runs through to James, who hoofs back downfield.
Neat move down the right from Pompey, and a low cross from Johnson is met by a stooping Crouch, but it flies high and wide.
Shevchenko whips the ball along the ground across the area towards Inzaghi, but James races from his goal to slide and claim. Good stuff from the goalkeeper.
Bit of Keystone Cops stuff there in the Pompey box, with Inzaghi almost sneaking through, but it's cleared.
Kanu trickery in the area nearly wins a corner, but the assistant incorrectly signals a goal kick.
Antonini is down for a knock, and there's a break in play.
Deafening noise raining down from the four blue walls of Fratton Park.
Great ball played into the Milan box by Johnson, skidding across the area onto Crouch's head, but he can't quite connect.
Late sliding challenge on Johnson by Flamini, and the Frenchman lucky not to see a yellow card.
Still Milan making tight triangles of passes in midfield, as Pompey tirelessly chase.
A crunching shoulder charge by Belhadj on Zambrotta in the Pompey channel, and the Italian goes crashing to the turf. A real 'man's' challenge there.
Ball falls to Kaka and he... skies it into Row Z from 10 yards.
Strong challenge by Johnson on Flamini, but Milan still have it, and it's suddenly a scramble in the Pompey goalmouth.

Crouch has a header at the back stick, but it's blocked.
Crouch tries to steal the ball off the last man's toes, but is just denied. Now Milan break, but Flamini can't quite reach the chipped cross.
Pompey corner blocked, and away come the Italians, but now they lose possession.
Inzaghi goes down like a tart's drawers on the edge of the box and the referee waves play on.
Kanu twists and turns on the edge of the Milan box, but can't connect properly, and his weak shot is gathered by Dida.
Inzaghi flagged offside. He looks frustrated.
Shevchenko miscues from 8 yards, scuffing the ball with his left. Should have done better.
More Milan pressure, but tenacious Pompey defence wins them the ball back.
Poor delivery, headed away at the front stick.
Milan win a corner. Kaka to take.
Pompey showing some neat stuff, and Kanu plays a beautuful ball across the area to Crouch, who can't quite reach the volley.
Portsmouth free kick out wide launched to back post. Hooked back, but Dida gathers easily.
Pompey win a corner from a deflected Crouch volley. Lofted in, but easily cleared.
Kaka really showing his awesome pace, as he blows off Johnson.
Here come Milan again. Fabulous lofted chip from Kaka but it's beyond the far post.
A very, very lucky escape for Pompey there.

Now Milan break, but there's a foul by Richard Hughes and he sees yellow.
Pompey win a throw by the Milan corner flag.
Traore breaks down the left and feeds Belhadj, but the ball goes out.

Milan stroke it about but Pompey hold firm. And Portsmouth win a free kick just in the opposition half.
Short, neat passing from Pompey here, but a foul given against Kanu.
A long ball from Milan, and James gathers. Pompey keep it on the deck, though, and put the Italians under pressure, but Bouba Diop screws wide.
A wall of noise raining down on the players from the notoriously retiring Portsmouth fans. Is that a bell I hear?
Pompey swing a free kick high from the halfway line into the box. Crouch leaps, but it's away.
Pompey straight down the throats of their esteemed opponents - clearly high-pressure tactics are the order of the day.
Kaka given a charming south-coast welcome of an avalanche of boos.
And away we go in the rain. Milan kick off.
And here come the teams onto the pitch. It's almost a surreal sight.
Pompey going with the odd couple of Kanu and Crouchinho up front. A comedy chorus of "Who the ****ing hell are you" echoes around Fratton Park.
The Italians clearly mean business tonight, naming a starting line-up that includes Kaka, Gattuso, Flamini, Inzaghi and Shevchenko. The bench will warm the backsides of Ronaldinho, Pirlo, Seedorf, Pato and others...
