National coach Denizli has understandably turned to UEFA Cup winners Galatasaray for the backbone of his squad. And Unsal - or 'Little Hakan' as he is affectionately known - is the backbone of the team for both club and country. Has been unlucky with injury over the past few months, though at full-fitness he is a strong and adaptable left back who can move into midfield if required. Made his debut against Belgium in 1996 but yet to really establish himself in the Turkey team. Came back after a long injury lay-off to play an important role in the qualifying play-off against the Republic of Ireland. He showed a rather petulant side to his game against Portugal and was guilty of overacting on more than one occasion.
